In another thread on this site someone showed a supposed sample of the jello effect from a cmos camera. A post of mine, now edited away without explanation, I brought up the fact that it looked like a smoothcam anti shake filter had been added and that it was not a cmos problem.
So I decided to do a side by side test and what do you know, shaky shot turns to jello shot.
I have been trying to get the jello effect on my HF10 but with no success. I will keep trying to find high freq vibration and will post footage if it occurs.
For the future anyone posting jello shots should be asked if an antishake filter has been applied. Anti shake filters like smoothcam in FCP seem to hate drastic jerky movements.
Cam was being raised on a monopod, HF10, 24p, 1/48th shutter. Nothing else was done to footage.
Side by side test here. If direct viewing isn't up yet the download does work. Its only a 2.2MB file.
