hero films--which ones should i watch?

My first post...Hello everyone

There are many movies I would like to list, but I will just name the one and only all time favorite for most. The movie that set the standard for all other hero movies.

BLANKMAN!!!

Serenity?! I suppose River could be termed a superhero, but it's a bit of a stretch.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer probably ualifies, though.

A psychic with super human strength and reflexes,
hells yeah thats a superhero!

buffy was a wuss, river would rip her apart.

How about the superhero flick "Mr.ExpirationDate" ?

It's hard too find, but it blows away Batman, IMO.

If I was going to enter this fest, I wouldn't watch the super hero movies. Just pick up "The Dark Knight" series by Frank Miller. Then try and take that sense of reinvention or genre shifting, and put it into your short.

Also, please consider the "costume" carefully. Spandex is as bad as speedos for the 'ole banana boat effect. And keep your sidekicks un-homoerotic (not that there's anything wrong with that).

If I can get my hands on an HVX and a story, I'll see ya in the sandwich fest.

Cheers.

Well, no denying the girl has super-powers. The question, though, is is she a superhero? She's got the super, but I don't know about hero. She's mostly acted in self-defense or the defense of her close friends. She doesn't seem to have any particular moral code she adheres to, nor a distinctive name or trademark. I don't think she's really a superhero without those more heroic qualities.

Buffy, though, has specific evil-fighting duties, and a title (the Slayer) which is distinctive.

Don't get me wrong, I *far* prefer Firefly/Serenity to Buffy, but that's how I see the superhero question. ;)

And I do have to say, even though its somewhat cheesy, the original Batman (starring Adam West) was a favorite when I was a kid.

Adam West is a lot funnier on Family Guy..

"And who's Adam We? Wait... who am I? I'm Adam We... nobody gets the best of Adam We."

Spider-Man (Sam Raimi's)
X-Men 2 (Bryan Singer)
Batman (Tim Burton's)
Batman Begins

and you've got to watch the 1966 Batman movie at least once, for the Shark Repellant!
