Help!

Just for kicks, can you transcode the footage to DVCProHD for us to see whether that is also choppy on the timeline? I have an i7 2.6Ghz and AVCHD plays back all right, and Windows Media Player loves it (it's fine on my 3 year old laptop), but only in Windows 7... have you updated to at least Premiere 4.1? They addressed major AVCHD playback problems with that patch.

I apologise for the confusion, I realise my posts havnt been clear...

Where I am at right now, the only problem is playing it in windows media player/quicktime etc. It plays fine in the timeline.

However i downloaded a new player called 'BS player'. It plays it fine!

You should really transcode the footage to more a edit-friendly format before working with it in your editor. It's gonna save you BIG headaches in the future...

DVCPRO-HD or Cineform are two PC based codecs that should work

can you post the exact export settings you used? have you tried exporting to a different format? Oh, and see if VLC media player works on that exported file.
