I am very interested in buying/ building a zaza slider, but there is something that is keeping me from ordering one. I have a very nice Libec tripod for my DVX and i understand you just remove the head and screw it into the carriage that goes onto the rails, but it says to screw the rail to the top of the tripod so it can support your rig. well, the top of my tripod with the head removed is just an empty bowl..and I don't see any other part that goes in between there so i can screw in the railing. I really love this tripod and and im sure there is somekind of quick fix for this or maybe im just looking past something. ZAZA man please help me! I wanna give you my money! lol ;)

Pics attached of my tripod to show you what im working with.

Moderators please move this thread to the normal DVX forum, I have no idea why i posted it in the screen grabs/ footage section. Thank you ;)

1) You need to detach the half-bowl from the tripod head.

2) The easier (albeit slightly more expensive) solution is to get a second, identical tripod head. That way, you can put a quick plate on the bottom of the rails, which can quickly attach to the tripod without detaching the head (this also gives you more movement with the rails). With the second tripod head permanently attached to the carriage on the slider, the camera can also quickly move from tripod to slider without shifting pieces around.
