C100: Help with interlace artifacts in progressive

The attached is an MTS 29.97 file interpreted as progressive in AE. As the turbine engine slowly spools up, the propeller exhibits interlacing artifacts until a certain RPM is reached. When interpreted as interlaced, the artifacts don't occur, but the rest of the image suffers.

It was a rookie mistake shooting at 29.97, my intentions were 24p. I'm wondering if 24p would have created the same artifacts? I've corrected the file by stacking duplicated files, one interpreted progressive, one interlaced and masking the props.

Thoughts?

Many thanks,

i gave up shooting anything other than 24p on the C100. tried many converters for the C100 29.97 but never completely got rid of some of the artifacts like stair stepping.

It was a first for me David. I've shot both 30 & 24, but never on a turbine start-up. Pistons just leap to it, turboprops spool up very slowly. Live and learn.

Thanks,

Mike
