I just wanted to buy a cheap steady cam around 300$, not a long stick rig or shoulder mount one, a steadycam that can go with the ground free to move, and I wonder if anyone tried the FIGRIG with DSLR, or if there is better options with my price range?
There are all kinds of differant camera mounts with varying degrees of stabilization. Figrig is simply one of these but differs greatly from the gimbal type steadicam offerings. Figrigs are easy to build even for someone with limited building skills so it is in your pricerange. It works pretty well. Shoulder supports come in all kinds off offerings and prices so you need to search this forum as they have been discussed many times. Gimbal type streadicam offerings tend to be more expensive but can also be had for under $300. I personally have all these and end up using a simple bar with two handles I made 90% of the time.
Thanks boulder, the point here, is that the shoulder can't go 2 feet in height, to stabilize, I am looking for a good one with low height stabilizing system
One easy method I've used for that is to simply take a cheap tripod and mount the camera and hold it upside down by the tripod. You get a very stable image and you can get inches from the ground. You wont get any better stabilization with these other methods than that. Simply flip the image in post.
