Okay right now I own a dvx 100b that has a variety of uses. Now I have about $3000 available for camera equipment and would just like some advice. I am new to filmmaking, but I know my way around. So, I could upgrade to the andromeda with a macmini for recording leaving me with basically nothing. Or, I could get some nice lights, a solid tripod, decent audio equipment. what would you say would lead to higher production value, because right now I have tripod that can just get me by and the same goes for audio .

Thank you

i would go towards getting more stuff for your dvx. remember, the dvx is still an amazing camera. get some lights and an external mic for better sound. maybe get a new computer for editing. thats what i would.

No way you'd be able to handle the andromeda footage with a mac mini. Get the lights and other equipment, it'll do you a world of good.

Yep definitely beef up your lighting, audio, and camera supports. Doesnt matter how amazing the picture quality is if your pans are sticking, audio is tinny, and the lighting sucks.

the andromeda system requires a computer to record. thats what the macmini was for. I have a pretty decent editing sytem, but I had a gut feeling I should go with lights, mics, tripod.
