We just imported footage from out XL2 and it has blure/ghosts on it, it's not smooth at all. Is there something we did wrong? What kind of settings might we have to change? Thanks

It's most likely that the shutter is set wide. You'll need to mess with that to get it to lose the "ghosts."

Ok, I don't know if that is the reason. Does anyone know if there is a way to reset the whole computer to original settings?

Hi Brian,
Well, not knowing your operating system, application, settings/configurations or even import data, it would take a real oracle to answer your question. Try this:
1. Put the source tape back in the XL-2
2. Connect the XL-2 video output to a TV or suitable monitor
3. Play the video on your XL-2 and check out the video
Most likely, the video does not have a ghost signal. In that case, go to the appropriate forum for your NLE - someone's bound to give you some tips.
