Help! T2i says it "cannot playback video".

So, I was on a shoot with my T2i. I was shooting on a 32 GB class 6 SDHC card, and when I got home to offload the footage, I found "28 GB availible" on the card. I looked, and saw that only two of the clips played back, while the rest were 16kb each, and had corrupted .thm files. When I put it into the camera, I saw "Cannot playback video" in the playback menu.

Is my data there? What happened? Is there any way to repair the card? How? Was it a faulty card? Is there any way to prevent this from happening in the future?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

the .thm files are required to playback the video on the camera. Without them, you can play it on the computer, but not on the camera. They are configuration files.
