Help - Steps to Import P2 Files to FCP

I am running Avid with my HVX footage with no problems, but I have an associate using FCP (5.1.2) in another city that has never touched P2 content and is trying to use some of my footage. I have no access to FCP, but I built the following steps from info I found on the web - he is still having problems...

Can someone please look at these steps and tell me what is wrong? Even better, post the concise steps on this forum? There are no P2 cards involved as he is copying my footage by FTP as a complete "contents" folder.

What is wrong with these steps to import P2/MXF into FCP 5.1.2 ?

0) Start a new FCP project as DVCPRO HD: 1080/60i.

1) Copy the CONTENTS folder and the LASTCLIP.TXT document directly to a folder on one of your Mac’s hard drives

2) Create a new Bin in your Browser and name it something appropriate like "NewFootage".

3) Highlight the Bin and right click (cnt+click for one button mice), then from the pop-up menu select Set Logging Bin. This will cause the sample clip to be placed inside the Bin.

4) Save your Final Cut Pro project with an appropriate name.
Otherwise the sample clip will be placed in a folder called "Untitled Project1"
in the Capture Scratch folder on your Scratch Drive.

5) Go to the File menu and select Import, then select "Panasonic P2...".
This will open the import window. Give the sample clip a Reel Name, located at the top of this window.

6) Click the plus sign to the right of the Volumes/Paths: drop down menu.
Navigate to the folder that contains the sample clip with the LASTCLIP.TXT file and CONTENTS folder and click Open. The clip ID of the sample will show up.

7) Hold the command key (Apple key) and click on the sample clip.

8) Click the Import button in the lower right of this window. This will convert the sample clip to a QuickTime DVCPRO-HD file that will be placed in a folder inside the Capture Scratch folder on your Scratch disk.

9) The sample clip will show up in your FCP Browser window where you can view it.

My associate tells me that at step 6 they don't see the Import Window and they do not not have Volumes/Path drop down option or a a Reel Name window.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
