Hey Guys,

I'm shooting a clip on the HVX this weekend.

Part one..

It only really needs to finish up SD in the end but was thinking about shooting the blue screen stuff either DVCPRO50-SD or 1080-25p ..then doing the compositing work then down res to match the non comp'd shots.

is this worth doing?.. I ask because when I did blue screen before on HVX with P&S lens adaptor standard DV quality I had a lot of issues pulling a good key.

part two..

The DVCPRO50 format records to tape yes?.. will capturing it to my edit (sony Vegas) via firewire downres it to standard DV?

Any advice most welcome.. Just trying to get my head around the best workflow solution for a VERY low budget clip to be edited on an old athlon..

thanks!

M

You will get a better key shooting in DV50 and the HD modes. Go 1080p if you can.

You can only record regular DV to tape. Everything else you need to use a P2 card, firestore, or stream to NLE.

Thanks Jester.. I've only got 2 lots of 8gig cards with me so I want to try and get away without having a laptop on set with me.

Have any of you guys green/blue screened with this cam at DVCPRO50 720P??

were you able to pull a decent key?.. I know how to light and how to seperate my elements etc :)

thanks
