C100: Help PLeae..Audio Issue on Clips Over 2gb.

Hi all,

Just need some help please.

I recorded a clip that was split due to the 2gb recording limit. Premiere Pro CS6 (Windows) stitched it nicely on import, but I lost the audio for most of the clip (from the start) and then it kicks in towards the end.

I would install the Canon stitch software but my disc drive is at work (HDD is in its place). Will using the Canon software instead of letting PP do the stitching retrieve my audio?

It does look like the audio has been recorded as it is showing up in the timeline...just no sound?

Thanks all,

Phil

This is on a C100? Import the footage through the Media Browser -- do NOT just drag MTS files to the timeline. If you import through the media browser, using the original PRIVATE folder and all its associated subdirectories, you should find the audio working just fine.

If you're trying to edit the MTS files themselves, then this situation is the kind of thing that will happen, and this is why you never want to work directly on the MTS files; always use the proper import procedure that your NLE supplies when working with AVCHD footage.

Cheers Barry.

Yeah it's on a C100. I am importing through the media browser and I can see the audio waves in the timeline...just no audio itself.

I did have the pre-record function on and am thinking this may have something to do with it.

I will check my mic and lead and do some more testing...Will report back soon.

Cheers,

Phil

Well i've checked the original files in VLC player and they all have audio.

I also checked other clips in PP and it seems that all my imported clips' audio is cutting out at some stage during playback, so it must be an import issue.

Any ideas?

Cheers

My suggestion is wait , cuz Premere takes time to load, see the bottom right of PP, its still processing !

I hope you reply me rude saying you know this, otherwise it would be lol

I've had problems with this on my AF100 avchd files. Sometimes the .XMP files get corrupt when conforming. try deleting the XMP file in the private folder for the clip that has the audio issue, this will cause premiere to re-conform the clip. Every time I've done this it has fixed the issue for me.

Thanks swanny will give that a go. though i do think it was user rror as i did just dump it and export it .

Thanks for the replies.

Phil
