Help- pixels in footage

did some searching, don't see anything quite like in other posts..... i am having this problem with pixels in my video and i cannot figure out why it is. it is not all the time, it is sporadic, and does not repeat the timing or pattern. Here is a link to a frame:

I am hoping it is in my editing software (fcp 5.1.4) so i am putting mxfs back on p2s to view in viewer and camera cause the footage i have on cards still looks fine. it might not be there in reality, but it is in the export files out of fcp so i am a nervous. i have checked my import setting carefully and repeatedly....

anyone seen this before? hopefully it is something dumb that is right in front of me, but i am on a deadline right now and i have some serious render time in front of me.....

thanks guys.

Thanks Barry, you really are fast and i appreciate it. i have heard mention of this many times and have always gotten around the chatter by always dumping to a pc windows xp desktop first, then to pc external drives in the field, then moving those files to mac editing raid from external drive, which mac reads without problem.
however, now i have copied those files back to the p2 card and the "glitch" is there in camera..... is all of that typical. i carry a pc to site with me

can i get around this by taking the clips into premier? im infinitely worse with premier pro cs3 but i have it and will start figuring it out immediately if i know it is ia viable workaround....

Nobody knows where the actual glitch happens. It is my theory that it is when moving the data from the P2 card to the Mac. And because of that, moving the data back from the mac to the P2 card could be subject to the same "glitch" potential.

It might. I'd think that'd be a very worthwhile test to run, is to see whether the footage is glitched only in and through using FCP, or if the glitch also exists in PPCS3. Might help us narrow down whether it's a Mac issue, or an FCP bug. I tend to think it's a Mac issue because it also happens in P2 Log.

sorry to belabor the point, barry, and incidentally, you are the man, but by your estimation, my files that have remained native to the pc os the whole time, should then be able to be brought into premier pro or possibly (though apparently less likely), another fcp system without incident? i think i have lost some files in this case, but maybe not all....

so fcp might be renamed, "fing completely pooched?

k, it appears as though i have all the footage still on the pc external, though it was connected to the mac for the transfer. i have another macbook fcp system on the way to me now, but i am developing a rendering time issue quickly. is it futile to find another mac? ( there is a place near me that rents with video software, probably walk over and walk back with a quad or 8 core to speed up what the mac book pro that i have coming will do.) Do you think the files on the pc drive could have been "glitched" during a "copy" process? i know you do not have a crystal ball, but do you have any feeling on whether another mac is likely to have the same problem? i also so far can only import my audio into cs3, cant find p2 support.... think i am all updated......

so the files that had been copied to the mac os were corrupted also when i plugged the pc drive into a pc desktop and dragged the files directly from the pc drive into the bin in premier. they played with the same pixels. the files on the pc drive that had not been copied to the mac (shot the day after, same hvx, same cards, same offload process) are not corrupted and play cleanly in premier pro. it appears to me, if a clip interacts with the mac os, it can be compromised..... and i own shares of aapl.......sad...... looks like i am moving to premier for the rest of this project and probably permanently. does this happen in avid when it is running on a mac?
