Hey guys I really need to pick up one of these Wide angle adapters. BOTH have a 0.3x magnification bringing my 20mm to a 6mm and my 14 to a 4.2mm.

I'm matching the GOPRO look with 180' FOV, but is there a difference between wide angle and semi-fisheye?

Will both of these vingette on the 20mm or ! 14mm on the 14-140?

here is the semi-fisheye http://www.adorama.com/RXMX3062.html
here is teh wide-angle http://www.adorama.com/RXXL3000P.html

Looking to get these really fast.

I am going to mount this on GH1 with a Gripper 3025 suction cup mount with an 8lbs capacity manfrotto head.

I'm liking the threaded filter more because It will most likely not fly off on the car rig @ 60+MPH also the fact that it has an 82mm thread so I can put a uv filter on it to protect from bugs and road debris.

BUT it weighs more than the snap on filter.

Do you think the snap on filter will hold?

Will they both give the same fov or will the semi fisheye have that notorious circle vingette?

I've tried a variety of wide-angle converters and the types that use a single lens element all share a common drawback. They seem to alter the focus point of the main lens you use with them, which some lenses cannot accommodate. Even the high-priced 16x9 and Century Optics single-lens wide and fisheye adapters have this problem.

The manufacturers refer to multi-element converters that do not have focusing issues as "full zoom-through" lenses. I have a 16x9 HDV7X1 0.7x wide angle adapter that works really well even with fast wide zoom lenses, but it's huge compared to the Lumix 20mm:

Based on my experience with several 16x9 wide angle adapters, I think the following three-element model may be suitable for the 20mm pancake (only 5oz):

I guess that is why someone told me that when they use the cheap 30 dollar 0.45x wide angle + macro adapters, they say they have focusing issues without the macro attachment.

I'm looking for something wider than a .7x because .7x on my 20mm will only be 14mm... I could just use my 14-140 lens @ that point. Maybe I should just stick with the 30.00 http://www.amazon.com/62MM-0-45X-AN...B6/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1301175388&sr=8-11

that will @ least give me a 9mm on the 20 and a 6.3mm on the 14mm...

What are your thoughts? I'm kind of on a really tight budget, I'm also trying to order a flycam nano. Also what are your thoughts on the gripper 3025(http://www.filmtools.com/gripper-3025-suction-cup-camera-mount.html)?

Frankly, I'd have to say that the only wide-angle converters I've found with acceptable HD quality have been multi-element, 16x9 and Century Optics adapters. The ones with broader lens elements appear to produce less distortion. The drawbacks, of course, are that these lenses are huge and cost around $500. The widest of these seems to be 0.7X. Wider than that is probably verging on semi-fisheye terrritory. The lightest and cheapest of these, the 16X9 0.7X 46mm converter I linked to above, is one I'm planning on testing in the near future.
