HELP! My baby took a tumble last night! (With Pic)

Isn't this just my luck?

I did my last wedding for the season last night, and poor baby took a tumble.. not once - but twice. Details are long and drawn out on how this happened... the only thing that matter is that it happened.

Right now.. she is still running and is still recording.

Both batteries shattered their cases, and I am down to one working one right now...I have been meaning to replace those anyway. (They have loss their life span)

The base plate crack a couple of months ago while I was in DC on 9/12. I can replace that myself, but this is pretty bad.

I can't have the main lens exposed like that. I have beat the hell out of this camera over the past year, and the fact that it took a HARD HIT TWICE - in one night - and it is still operational tells me that a couple of more these camera are in my future.

But I need to get this fixed...anyone have any suggestions? I am pretty much done for the season, so I can let it go for a little bit (Until February 13th, 2010), and if a shoot does come up, I have back resources.

From what I've heard, this repair can be done without sending it off anywhere. The part is like $60, and there's a bit of disassembling that you'll need to do, but not very much because it's built to break like that in case it gets hit, rather than ripping apart even more things.
