Hi guys, we are going to buy a 4K camera in order to start shooting 4k stock for our users. I'm finding it VERY hard to choose.

So i've got the Blackmagic Cinema Camera, which is cheap and gives great footage.

The Blackmagic URSA which looks like it's going to be a beast, but who knows really when it's going to be out and what the firmware is like.

The GH4 is cheap but i'm not quite convinced yet

Does anyone have any input for me which might help in deciding which 4k camera to go for? We already have a good selection of Canon glass so EF mounts only.

Thanks in advance guys!!

Well, you didn't disclose your camera budget, or your camera support budget, your crew size, workflow capabilities, or even the type jobs you would be doing with the camera.

To be real honest, any of these modern cameras are capable of delivering great results when used by talented filmmakers.

I would likely pick the tool best suited for the type of work I was doing, that fit into my budget restraints.

The Swiss army knife of cameras, why not an fs700 with odyssey 7q...8bit, 10bit, 12bits, 13 stops DR, slow motion, great 1080, 2k and 4k. All for around 12 grand. After seeing some of the latest cameras recently, still not many can match Sonys technology.

I'm going to be shooting stock video all around the world, as you can imagine that's a pretty diverse ask for a camera. I'll look at the fs700 now, thanks Marino! Camera budget ideally below 8k, accessories below 2k.

If you want a camera that has 4k and is versatile and up to the harsh conditions that you might put it through traveling around the world, hands down it is the Canon 1D C. Look on ebay for a used one. It has a 1.3 crop which really helps on the wide end. Get the new 16-35 f4 zoom, the 35mm 2.0Is, the 100mm 2.8is macro and the 70-200 f4 zoom, and the 1.4 extender, and you can shoot just about any thing anywhere, It is the best 4k low light shooter of everything you mentioned and it's 4k is just beautiful, and if you are traveling you can't beat Canon for worldwide service and the fact that there are ef lenses everywhere in the world.
