Help making a Contract

:violin:

I'm learning the hard way that many people in this industry like to hire you, bust your ass, ask for you to cover all rental expenses..... and then "forget" to pay. I'm in the process of making a contract (for freelance videography) and am a bit stumped. I want to protect myself without coming across as threatening. Is there a good place for examples of maybe even a template to use? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

yeah, try posting readable text in the business section. Sorry, can't read it either...

lol.

u guys, hi-lite it with your mouse and then that helps :P

but here's the non-cancerous version of what he said :P

And yeah, i'd like to read the comments on that question :) Or has it already been answered somewhere else in another forum section?

Thanks,

JM

A "deal memo" is a good idea for you to consider. It is less threatening and often leads to a collaboration between you and your subject/ client. I have had some tough breaks by not drawing one up, so now it's a staple of a lot of my documentaries.
