First of all, does anyone have any important tips when recording straight to a hard drive from HVX-200 via FW400 on a MacBook Pro running FCP 6.0.1?
I've been shooting a huge doc project, and have shot all 720P 24PN onto P2 cards. All my footage in the project is 23.98. Now that we are switching from using P2 cards to recording straight to a drive, all my footage is getting captured at Vid Rate 59.94. TC Rate is also 59.94. I can't seem to get FCP to input it at 23.98.
My settings on camera: 720P/24P. My FCP settings: Capture Preset is DVCPro HD - 720p24 48 kHz.
Even when I change the Capture Preset Compressor settings from 60 to 23.98, it still records at 59.94. I've got "Remove Advance Pulldown and/or Duplicate Frames from FireWire sources" checked, but FCP doesn't seem to be doing it.
Is there no way to capture 720P clips with 23.98 Vid Rates? Could I run into problems down the road mixing clips with 23.98 Vid Rate and 59.94 Vid Rate in the same project? Should I convert all the 59.94 clips in Cinema Tools before importing them into my project?
