Hello,

I recorded a video by HVX200a and Firestore. I used p2 format in forestore (DVCPROHD) and 1080i60 mode on the camera. My problem now is create a dvd (NO HD-DVD). I had never done it, is the first time that I edit hd movies.

I follow this instrucctions: http://www.bellunevideo.com/tutvideo.php?tutid=10

but I dont think that it was correct for me, because y burn my final DVD using Encore (with avi movies) but in this tutorial the final video is MPG2-DVD (the product from media encore are two files: one video and one audio, i dont know how work with these files to create a dvd, I always use avi files) I dont know how import this format on Encore CS4. Also, my final result is not to good. I used premiere cs4.

I would like to know how you work these kind of videos and What is the best option to convert HD to SD? If is possible, using Premiere cs4

Thanks

p.d. Sorry for my english, it is not my mothe tongue.

Hey Perrojo,

The quickest, easiest way to get an SD DVD from the HD footage, would be to use CS4's built in 'Track/Sequence to DVD' feature. It will let you burn your timeline to a dvd and do all the resizing for you.

My typical workflow for the best quality is to export to a 720x480 mpeg2 through Vegas (Premiere should work too.) and then also export a wav file of the audio. I then bring it into DVD Architect (Encore for you) to burn to a dvd. This usually gets the best quality.

Another method would be to export a full quality file from Premiere and then bring it into Encore and let Encore do the resizing.

Hope this helps,
Andy
