i´m heating my mind to figure out how to export 720p30p footage into a SD NTSC projetc that does not look like crap..

with interlaced artifacts lookin awfull..

i did try all the ways , and could no find an option.

i did try puting 720p footage into SD NTSC 3:2 time line....nothing..

export 720p timeline as ntsc SD - noithing

tried with prores - nothing.
umnconpressed 8bit looks ok , but whem i burn DVD and play it back on tv , the crap is done

conversion - nothing
compressor - nothing...

the final FIle is always the same way...looking crap because of the interlaced lines out of their places...

i´m desperate , because i need to finish a job until monday , and could not find a way to do my work looks good.

am i doing something wrong??

i shot QT clips on fire store and just log the FS100 as an external HDisk and just drag them to the computer´s hard disk , and import the files to the project...

i´m using FCP

tks

i forgot to say....

i need to export to SD to playback on interlaced CRT TV...

but the problens is that the fields are out their places... not right filds...

looks like they are thicker than normal...

Export to Compressor- 16:9 Best Quality MPEG-2. Import into DVDSP. All there is to it.

it really worked , thanks...
but where is the sound??

rss

compressor only did export the m2v , but think there another separated file for the sound...is that right..??
could not find the sound

ok , forget the audio question...

i just realized that i should outpup the audio to...and it worked...

thank you

Ok , until now everythiong was doing fine...

i output a 60 minutes m2v file , and it was crashed.
them i tried 12 minutes....crashed agaian...

now i´m trying 5 minutes...

and in my macbook pro core 2 duo 2.5 , a 60 minutes m2v took almost 5 hours to do the job..
and crashed

i found a way to do a 720x480 interlaced QT.MOV, throwing the 720p30p footage into a NTSC DV 3:2 project.
Quick Time video settings is Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2.

them exporting the projet as QT movie.
them selected custon setting.

in this way just set the setting the same as i did in projetc settings.

and this way the field dominance was able to be alterated...

them i´d set to lower.

and quick time video settings , set it to uncompressed 8 bit again..

wonderfull....

i was trying to export the footage just selecting DV/DVCpro - or DVpro50

them it was terrible...the filds looks thicker tham normal...

but now i could do this look perfectly...

thanks.

Sorry Marco can you explain what you did at the end there in that last post? I can't quite make sense of it and I have the same problem as you.

Export from your 720/30p sequence to QT/Current Settings/Self Contained/Audio and video.

Open Compressor. Drop that file into Compressor. Choose the 16:9 SD DVD encode preset appropriate for the length of the video in minutes and apply it to the file.

Apply the Dolby2 audio preset to it as well.

Encode and you'll get a m2v file and and ac3 audio file for use on a track in DVD SP.

Thanks David,

What if your m2v file won't open in DVDSP? For example, it says "Incompatible Format"? What do I do now? Is there another encoding preset in Compressor that is friendlier with DVDSP?

Thanks.
