HELP! Firewire 1394 to FCP not working

Hi, I just got my HVX200A three weeks ago and has been working like a charm but tonight while logging some MiniDV footage via 1394 firewire to FCP 6.0.3 it slowed down and had to be shut down manually since any Apple commands weren't working. I successfully logged two tapes but when I got to the second batch clip I was going for it stopped and I don't know if it could just be my firewire or the 1394 port was damaged. I don't know.

I also shot something on P2 and again via firewire hooked it up to my MacBook Pro via firefire and tried a log and transfer but all I got was "1394 Disconnect"

I'm pretty worried, I hope it may just be the firewire but if not I don't know what else.

Can anybody help me?

I think I have a bent pin on the 1394 port. Is there a way I can straighten this or do I have to send this to a repair shop. Will my warranty cover it? I am so pissed off!

Is one of the pins not lying down flat against the plastic? If so, take a needle and
see if you can bend it down flat again.

Also, if not sure about the connector, you can verify it is not an FCP issue by trying to capture via Imovie.
