Hi everyone, I have to edit a videoclip on final cut pro 6 and I've got the .XML and .XMF files of the footage ( stuff from the Clip and Video folder). Final cut pro 6 does not accept my .xmf files and when I drag a .XML file in fcp they keep asking for a translation files, I tried the Last Clip.txt but it does nothing... It is the first time I am working on a Mac, i need your help! Am I missing crucial files? I hope there is hope :S...

Unless you have the FULL directory structure...the CONTENTS folder with all 6 sub folders and ALL the componets in those folders...FCP will NOT be able to import the files.

There is light at the end of the tunnel though...RAYLIGHT!

I had the same issue...ONLY the video and audio MXF files were kept. Raylight saw them and allowed me to edit with them. VERY usefull application.

I called the DOP and he just came by with his hard drive containing all the 6 sub folders, what would be the normal method to import the footage? When I go to import there is no ''Panasonic P2'' that I can select, is it normal?
