So we recently purchased 3 HMC 150s for our production company, which we mainly do weddings and small events. Embarrassed to say that we have not quite nailed down this HMC 150 workflow using our Quad Core Mac Pro and FCS2.
I'de like some advice on how other people are exactly handling this work flow (especially you wedding videographers out there) from capture to editing to output on either DVD or BluRay.
Currently here is what we are trying. Recording in either 720p24 or 720p60, I was betting that the file sizes with shooting 720 were going to be easier/more efficient to deal with, if others feel strongly about shooting 1080 please voice your opinions and why.
Then taking the footage and transcoding via toast(9) to ProRes. If there is anything in particular to lookout for when transcoding please give me a heads up. Also, is ProRes the right choice or should I try to go to DVCProHD or something?
Then exporting the footage from FCS 2 to compressor for both DVD's and BluRay, this is where I am lost completely...
So if anyone is doing a similar workflow and can lay it out exactly for me, I would greatly appreciate it...
