Help! Canon Xh-a1 And Adobe Premiere Users

Hey guys I just came back from a shoot and I captured the footage using the 24f plug-in for adobe premiere. (Note: I'm using CS3)

Question 1

I dragged the footage from the library to the time line. Half way through the captured segment I hear this repeated audio bit! It's driving me nuts! I checked the original video file and played it in VLC. The second portion of the video which seems to be corrupted in the Premiere time line seems to be playing perfectly fine in VLC! So I know it wasn't a capture problem! Can anyone shed some light as to what's going on?

Question 2

Also... Since I ripped the footage from the camera onto my computer... Can I load the 24f footage onto lets say "HDV 1080p25"? Because then I would be able to export the edited footage back onto a HDV tape... This question is probably making some of you think, "ARE U SERIOUS?!?! YOU THINK YOU CAN IMPORT 24F INTO A 25P WORKFLOW?!?! U IDIOT!" Please hold the insults and just answer with a simple YES or NO.....

I don't have a clue for CS 3, but for PP2 you may need to download a patch from CAnon that is for the XL H1, which also works for the XH A1, since they both use 24f.

Does one have to buy the patch in order to edit 24f in cs3?? I've been experiencing artifacting after compressing for dvd.

If you have the latest version of CS3, 24f support is in there. It wasn't for the initial release but it was added later on. It's free.

You should be able to load the 24f timeline into a 30p or 25p timeline and output it to tape appropriate to either NTSC and PAL.

Thanks Tripp, I have not see the 24f support, but I'll look harder. I'm pretty sure I have the latest release though. I thought something was fishy when I started seeing artifacting after compression for DVD. It only happens when there are very thin horizontal lines in the image, like a fence or water ripples. I wonder if that is cause by my capturing and putting the 24f footage into a 29.97 timeline??
