the SD9 cam is a great little cam. Mixes pretty well with HVX IF and only if you have enough light. It's terrible in low light. I'd say you should be able to sell the XL1s, and get everything that you'll need for the SD9. it's a very consumer cam though in operation and feel, but does look nice all in all and it's a great covert cam.

I think a Canon HF10 or HF100 would be a better choice because it is better in low light, has less noise, and is less expensive. However, with the CMOS chip, you do run into other problems with the rolling shutter. If you do fast motion with good light, get the SD9. If you do less motion with less light, get the Canon.

From what I can tell, it shoots 1920x1080 @ 60i, 30p and 24p with pulldown. I have not specifically seen this, but I have seen lots of stuff about Canon HF10 24p pulldown removal, so if people are concerned with removing the pulldown, it must be there initially.

Hi,

I have the HF100 and really like it. It's decent in low light, the AVCHD is a good CODEC, I have a Quad Core and edit with Vegas Pro 8b.

Panasonic's AVCHD came out after I bought it or I might have got their 3-chip camera, so check it out.

It shoots 60i and "30P" and "24P" with pull down, there are several techniques to get the pull down with software. They are terrific.
