Hello I'm about to shoot my first movie

Hey I'm about to shoot my first movie and i need help with setting. I have Two T2I's with a Ef 28-80mm, 50mm, and a18-55mm lens. what are some good setting to use to get a good picture with this equipment and should I pick anything else up.

Thank You
Legend

I'd get maybe a 30mm and an 85mm and if you have the funds, a 135mm, all with at least an f2.8 opening. A good lighting kit. Support, mattebox and follow focus. Set of good ND filters 4x4. Maybe a Tokina 11-16mm.

By movie, do you mean feature?

Do you have a way to record audio (that is NOT the camera)? if not then search out the subject because it is very well covered and everyone prety much agrees that these Canons suck at Audio for narrative work.

yes I was going to use the audio from one of my older cameras ( Panasonic ag dvx 100b) the a RODE MIC. and i'm limited with cash so if I get the tokina 11-16 what that be good enough to start shooting or should get a 35 mm and 85 mm lens

What kind of film are you doing? and what style are you going for? that will tell people better what kind of equipment you might need. since you already have 3 good very usable lenses.

Good tripod?

lights?

Those will effect your image as well.

If you are going into a feature, make absolute sure that you have a very comfortable pair of shoes, a reliable high capacity coffee pot, and a nice portable chair. Trust on this.

+1

...Don't forget MAKE UP and an ART DEPARTMENT, as my friend Coach always says: It's all on the screen!!!

in that case you'll want to test your fx on camera before going into principal photography.

Rent the Tokina. lensrentals.com

Spend all of the money people are suggesting on new lenses on makeup and ART DIRECTION as someone mentioned. Put the money on screen and not behind it.

I promise promise promise that your dollars will be much better spent this way then on any new lenses you could possible buy, especially if this is your first film. Make sure what your shooting looks good and interesting to start with. No lens on the planet can fix a boring subject.

Find a Make Up Artist (MUA) you can work with. Some do FX too.

Find a sound guy. Someone with an investment in their own equipment. Find out if they do post too.

Sounds like you may want to be the DP. If not, find a DP. Someone with an investment in their own equipment or not. You can always rent if you've got the right guy or gal.

Is this going to be a short?

Ditto.

One other piece of advice (I've produced 4 features) - whatever re-writing you think might be needed, do it ASAP. Re-writing is the cheapest, best thing an indie fim maker can do ('cause we can't afford to fix it in post).

Best of luck!

WhiteMonkey,
this is going to be a short film about 15 to 20 minutes long and we just done a re-write. and I am the fx guy and DP
