Hello all.
I recently purchased an HCM150 and a new MacBook Pro A1286 (15") with 2.8GhZ/4GB for editing work. I have footage that I am trying to edit and after reading through this forum for the past few days I must admit that I am quite confused on how to proceed. Each conversion solution seems to have a drawback.
I would like to start editing "correctly" from the beginning to avoid headaches and lost time, so I thought I would ask for some assistance in setting up my workflow/software.
I believe I will be using FCP for editing, but I would appreciate some advice on which software I should use to convert the AVCHD footage to an editable format.
Is FCP the best software for my needs? I will be using the HMC150 for producing a demo to procure funds to produce an HD pilot for cable broadcast- that's my ultimate goal/pipe dream. In the meantime, I hope to secure an apprenticeship to be a B camera for weddings and events to help offset the expense of my recent impulse buys.
My world has been limited to digital still photography and I am (obviously) a total noob on video.
Any advice is appreciated.
