Heads up! Adorama FedEx to Canada...

FYI,

I was expecting my 7D from Adorama through FedEx this morning in Montreal.

Looking at the tracking, it seems my package is stuck in Mirabel.

After calling customer service, it seems that the package is valued too high for automatic clearance and that you have to either go to Mirabel yourself, use the FedEx broker or provide details for a broker of your own.

Someone from FedEx is supposed to call me back with details.

So anyways, heads up if you are in Canada and order from the States.

I always ship UPS World Wide Saver when buying equipment from B&H Photo in New York. It costs about 10 percent more than the regular UPS service, but items usually arrive in Toronto in about 2 days.

High value items like my Panasonic HMC150 still arrived in 2 days. I was charged a $25 brokerage fee by UPS ( along with full GST and PST ), which I am more than happy to pay.
