Since i have a large collection of nikon ais lenses, i figure that i can use those lenses on my GH4. I bought the Mitakon Lens Turbo Focal Reducer Adapter Nikon Ai-s to m43 MFT. The adapter arrived today and it is not snug fit. When you turn the focus ring, the adapter move back and forth.

I already email mxcamera to see if they have any solution for it. So if you're thinking of getting one then hold on and wait.

The movement is probably a case of loose screws holding the nikon bayonet to the adapter body. I've had this issue before with lens mount adapters. For all adapters the manufacturers fabricate a standard body usually with the camera side mount integrated and attach different lens side mounts as required. Very easy fix if that's the problem, all you need is a set of jewellers screwdrivers (very cheap) and tighten the three screws. The only other possibility I can think of is that the bayonet mount was made too thin which I wouldn't have thought as likely. So check whether the bayonet is loose on the adapter or if the lens is loose on the bayonet. If the whole adapter is loose on the camera then that would be a major manufacturing defect.

A trick I use a lot with wiggly adapters is take a piece of that thick furniture felt, the type you put on the bottom of a chair to keep it from scratching the floor (about the size of a penny) stick it to the top of your tripod plate, so when you mount the camera to the plate the felt pad is under the adapter, it's thick enough to put a little upward pressure on the adapter, yet soft enough to keep it from damaging your cam. works great, and you don't see it cause its directly under the adapter. Think of the felt being sandwiched between the plate and speedbooster

@ Egg Born Son: the adapter itself move without the lens. I think it is more of manufacturing defect. I have the same brand for EOS to Nex and it is snug fit.

@ maranfilms: I will try that while waiting for a solution. I still prefer it is snug fit as it should be. :)

Yeah, in that case it sounds like a manufacturing defect warranting a replacement. I wouldn't use it. Aside from potential damage the play could do to your equipment you want to avoid any wear and tear being used as a basis for a fight over it. Ebay supports buyer's local laws when it comes to sellers obligations. Do give them a genuine chance to come to the party to resolve this but don't wait too long before initiating a paypal dispute. I got screwed on a big purchase that never arrived because they dragged out 'shipping difficulties' and managed to distract me long enough to miss the deadline. Paypal won't act after that date has passed.

i got the replacement today and i'm happy to confirm that with their latest batch, it is fits perfectly.
