HDR Video possible with two HMC-150s?

I have two HMC-150s and a GH2. Is it possible to produce HDR video using two 150s...? If so, what is the workflow...? I have Adobe CS5 and Sony Vegas Pro 10. I'm more fluent in Vegas but I'm learning Premiere right now...

I don't think there's a way on earth to get an exact image alignment with two cameras, unless you can bum some parts from James Cameron's secret lair.

You should be able to synchronize the zoom and mf numbers that appear on the display. It would take awhile though on a shot by shot basis. Maybe you should sell all 3 cameras and get something with a better native dynamic range?

The only way to do this is with an optical prism - ie split the light and send the exact same image to two different cameras.

I've seen HDR shot this way using a 5dmkII, but I'm not sure whether they went Prism>seperate lenses>cameras or Single Lens>Prism>seperate cameras. If they used the first method, then There is no reason the same cannot be done with a HMC150.

Getting exact image alignment is very important. You might not consider a viewing angle of a few inches to be a very big deal, but in actual fact it would be exactly the same as watching a 3D movie without glasses.

I understand what you are saying. Any thoughts on where I would go to learn more?

Thank you all for your feedback on this insane idea...

So, I've seen a creative cow tut on how to do a kind of poor man's HDR. You duplicate the same clip twice, place them one on top of the other, exactly sync'ed and put filters on them, making the bottom underexposed and the top over-exposed, then set the top clip's composite mode to "Add" in your NLE. Voila! Sometimes it can work superbly. I'd be interested to see if the HMC's footage can manage it.

I may try that this afternoon... I actually sold one of my HMC150s, and now I have TWO GH2s... Love having all 3 to work with. Only one problem... On the GH2, I have one 20mm pancake lens and one 14:140mm lens. I think I'd need to have two of the same... Might have to get another 20mm and try doing this......

Using a 3D rig, cameras can get the same image shot. You'll be seeing through two lenses, i believe you can move one of the cameras in a 3d rig to simulate the space between eyes. I would simply slide thing over till the two images match perfectly.

Trust me... he rig didn't work all the time either. In fact some footage was so off we recreated the other eye using the same footage.
