hdmi playback res

I was scratching my head playing back my first batch of files last night from the 7D HDMI to a Samsung LCD, because the HDMI output was SD (the files were recorded 1080). Using the same mini HDMI cable, GH1 output a clean 1080.

I didn't see a software function to change the output. What gives?

Odd - it definitely should give you 1080i on playback....

I have the samsung 40" 1080p LN4061 model... playback was 1080, live view was 4/3 pillarboxed (with an HDMi out)

I read somewhere one of the buttons switches the resolution, could be completely
wrong. But I'm definitely getting SD out right now, so I will give it a look see.

When the info displays are on-screen, the image is smaller in the HD frame. Probably around 853x480.

Pressing "Info" until the displays dissappear make the image bigger within the HD frame. Probably around 1280x720.
