HDMI output to monitor???

Can I use an LCD TV (something small and cheap like a 15inch) and run an hdmi cable from the 7d to that TV to use as a monitor while shooting? Or is the EOS utility the only monitor option? Mine is simply lagging so bad it is fairly unuseable...
 
thanks barry, and that means while i am shooting video right? it is not just for playback alone is it?
 
so i am going to loose the LCD on the camera when I do this right? anyway to work around that or is that the sacrifice of using a monitor?
 
yes u will lose the image on the lcd. u can use a loupe to go around that though. here endeth what i know about that. these guys can tell u how that works and where to get it. I'm all ears 2 :)
