HDforindies December Red Update

...plus another article as well -

General news update from last week or two:

http://www.hdforindies.com/2006/12/red-update-much-bigger-red-drive.html

and my CONJECTURE on what the data rates will be for all the non-4K resolutions for Redcode, and then further conjecture on how much of each format at each frame rate would fit on a 320 GB Red Drive or Red Flash:

http://www.hdforindies.com/2006/12/mikes-conjecture-on-redcode-data-rates.html

Enjoy...

PS - and Brook - too true! I was slow, and much of that info came via Jarred/DVX anyway...

...but I got ONE thing unique for the day at least with 2nd article!

;D

That HDforIndies post says "...Uncompressed 4K@24p is 27.5 MB/sec..."

which is certainly not true. That's the rate after Redcode compression, I believe?

Uncompressed raw data at 12 bits/pixel for a 4096x2304 frame (9 Mpixels) would be 13.5 MB per frame, or 324 MB per second at 24 fps.
