We are editing the first content we shot on HD, back in January, and are getting ready to output for DVD use.
Our normal SD workflow is to output AVIs, which Encore then encodes for DVD. We then archive the AVIs and the Encore project.
Now... this gets a little complicated with HD. From searching and reading here, it looks like we're best off shooting 1080-30p, since that's the native format for the camera, and then downrezzing that to 480p for DVD.
Only catch is, we're shooting HD for future use, both HD web delivery and HD-DVD or Blu-Ray, and the nature of the content has a lot of fast movement, so we would probably be better off shooting 720-60p. But... from what I'm reading, it sounds like if we shoot 720p-60 and downrez to 480p, we'll get artifacting because it's being compressed twice.
Thoughts/suggestions? Is there any way to have our cake (720-60p) and eat it too (downrez to 480p without artifacting)?
