HD Ready LCD

Ban Me Please!
OK guys and gals. I've done a search, but can't find anything...could be my typing. :)

I'm seeing that Costco has some 17" LCD HD monitors available for under $400. If I'm looking for something to hook up for monitoring of the HVX will an HD ready TV work? Since there is no real need for a tuner, it would seem like it should work. I know not everybody is convinced that LCD's and such are much good, but I'm looking to get some opinions.

Your thoughts please, since I can't seem to find anything definitive.

thanks,

Jason

yep it will work. Everey plasma or lcd with the mark "HD ready" can play HD from the HVX. Some displays can only do 720p, some 1080i and some both (only one actually I belive it was a Samsung). HD ready does not imply that you can receive HD broadcast (if available) since the tuner is not HD.

thank you Cees. That's what I was hoping to hear. I have a cheap HD plasman hooked up to an HD cable box and it looks amazing. I'm hoping that the smaller ones will look just as good.

Best,

Jason

I'm looking too.

I want something between 10" and 17" that won't trash the wallet.

Unfortunately, all models like this will no doubt have speakers mounted
on it for obvious reasons.

I think both the cheapy models have pretty good size speakers on them, so they will be a bit more difficult to run around with, but for $300-400 it might be worth it.
