HD-100 example wmv's

Steve

Which IDX battery model do you recommend? What about the mounting plate to the hd100, is there a mount model I should mention to a dealer? Where do you recommend I order it from? Is the charger for this battery sold separately? Please enlighten me on the details regarding the 3rd party battery solution for this camera.
Thanks in advance.

Ted

p.s. the footage was great, was there a lot of compression when converting it to wmv? is there a chance you can post the m2t file if there is compression used on the wmv?

Click Here for the IDX battery kit which you can either get from your local dealer or from B & H or equivalent online dealer.

The footage was highly compressed to keep it to 100 MB. Full quality for that short clip would be unmanageable for most people to download. As it is now, I've been informed that the clips can no longer be hosted on the latest FTP site because they eat up tremendous bandwidth.

I wish JVC would offer some FTP site dedicated to HD-100 clips!

Thanks for the link. I also might get this camera fom B & H since they are offering a good price and I need a reputable company to ship it since I'm in asia. This cam is sold by JVC at very high price here.
Right now, some people, like me, are 'critically' looking at the output of this camera, your footages could very well be its saving grace to some decision makers. I for 1 am seriuosly comparing its hdv compression with the fx1. Its organic look is so film like. Is it possible for you to cut up that filmout clip into 2 or 3 files in its m2t codec? These grouping of diff genres is so helpful.

Ted,

I'll have to get another FTP from somewhere to try and accomodate the request I get recently. The most recent one has until tonight and then it's shut down just like the first one. I'll see what I can do but not promising.

What is the lens that you used, Stephen? The original $800 provided with the cam?

For all the footage?

m2t's, as well?

Emanuel,

The stock $800 lens was used throughout the Chicago produced shots. The oriental shots I can not speak for. All of the m2t's were shot using the stock $800 lens.

I don't want want to sound pushy, If so, I beg your indulgence, on other threads, other camera advocates have already posted good quality green screen material, similar to the scene I requested from you, stephenlnoe, again, begging your indulgence, could you come up with something similar to post? Please show to us the potential for this camera in this regard. The poorly lit footage of a hand against blue was ok, except that I think it had motion smoothing on which made it hard to key on some frames, and the smooth edges of the hand is not a good gauge compared to hair on a moving human head, skin and fabric.
I have no high unrealistic expectations from the HDV codec compared to DVCPRO, I am only after realistic expectations, that somehow this is better than my current DV, and that among the HDV cameras the JVC is competitive-if not, better. I've already filled my Cart at the B&H online since they offer the best price. I'm only waiting for this final test.
I have another question stephenlnoe, if I don't go the IDX option, how long does the BN-V438U Lithium-Ion last while shooting? Does it go for an hour? I intend to get 3 of these instead.
Your thoughts.

Thank you.

Ted
