Just thinkin out loud here...
So for the longest time, the pro division of Panasonic (AG line cameras) extended your warranty to 3 years when you registered the camera in the PASS system. They no longer do that, which was a shame because that warranty really made the brand stand out. It inspired confidence- Panasonic was saying to me "we stand behind Our professional line". Every other pro camera division offered only a 1 year warranty.
Now the consumer side is offering a three year warranty on the HC-X1, though it appears to be more promotional (it's done via rebate form instead of PASS). Most know that the X1 is the UX180 sans the time code and SDI- and is even made in the same factory. And now the GH5 will have 10bit internal recording to a SD card for under $2k? The consumer side is wiping the pro sides' nose
And the UX90 seems much more "consumer" than the X1. Just seems odd.
