it's funny how word get's around...

Vitaliy, Tester13....we know the name. Here.

videos are popping up online crediting "Hacker13", and "Hack13", and definately a few other monikers...

as it goes, there's so much 3rd, and 4th party word on this, and it's kind of getting stupid on YouTube and Vimeo....people are claiming 1080p chart-tests, but are uploading 720p clips, and some are claiming astronomical bitrates, while saying "Andrew Reid" uses these settings....wow. i know who Andrew Reid is, by the way...and a quote from Ace Ventura:When Nature Calls comes to mind.."I didn't know the Wachutu...were...BITERS!!!"

just funny how much bad info is out there. though nothing new, i feel privelaged to know what's real. i was here, it started here. it's not a war memory, or some political or social event that changed the lives of millions of people, but it's just something pretty cool that happened, and i was here when it started.:shocked:

I lol'd when I read this part. Like most people, I was sold on the GH1 long before the hack - just because of the price of it alone compared to any other option on the market. However, the hack has become a truck load of icing on a cupcake, won't lie.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if you can find someone selling hacked firmware as an upgrade to the GH1 on the internet...and people buying it. Then they'd probably Google it...and wind up here...demanding customer support. :D
 
unfortunately that is a risk. I do DIY audio gear and that's what happened on a forum I used to frequent. People started making kits and selling them even though the information was free and then everybody showed up demanding help and expecting perfection after they spent a lot of money on a project they didn't understand even though it was just a simple community project. It got bad with a quickness.

but in all seriousness, my fingers are crossed that someone doesn't do something stupid and make it all go to stink like trying to flog it for money. damn you money and your evilness!!..though i still love you non the less.

He wants people to look at his site? this is why Tester13 was so against him I think, DVX has been the best home for the hack and the support and I guess they enjoy the exposure too? money makes the world go around the world go around:shocked:

Money is just a means for an exchange of goods or services. Its neither good or evil. Its the love of money that causes wars and slavery and destroys lives. Sorry to get all philosophical on ya. Hahaha!

nah i wasn't implying anything in regards to commander spike, you are talking about him right?. I actually liked what he was testing with the gh1 way back on here. I think he stopped posting way before tester and the whole patch thing. Dunno what the story was and probably best not to know=) I still follow his stuff on his website every now and then.
 
^ i think it was more that he was luring people to his site thru dvxuser.com....he bought dvxuser.uk...and it leads people to eoshd . com
 
and i don't know exactly why. only the mods know. what's known is that Andrew didn't have a way of presenting himself to the world, and he found this place...he got to know it, used it, and then started his own site...if i say too much (and i don't know much), this thread will be locked.

but people that threaten the integrity of this site get banned, then they sign up again, get banned....and so on...Andrew just tried too hard, but now he has followers, and while his site is decent, and his tests are somewhat worthwhile, he's kind of tainted. does that make sense?
