Have Canon FDs appreciated in price?

I bought some canon fd's about 7 or 8 months ago for about $300 total and now browsing ebay the same lenses probably amount to about $1000+. Have these lenses appreciated? Is there a particular reason for this?

I have been keeping an eye on the used lens market and it does appear to me that the FD lenses have been rising in price. I think that it is probably due to their usefulness on some of the large sensor video cameras and the rise of more professional mirror-less, interchangeable lens still cameras for which the FD lenses can be adapted to.
