I'm looking at the Sigma 150-600mm Sport lens. Anyone used one with their C300 yet?

Buying or renting? If you're going to buy, the Canons are better but obviously a lot more money. If you're renting, why not rent the best? 600mm is out there, what are you shooting? Surfing? F1? Nature stuff? I've been shooting quite a bit lately with the Canon 100-400 F4.5-5.6 IS II, what a great lens, especially for just $2k.
Yeah for that length range and price, seems like a no brainer. How's the AF on the c200? Have you tried it with an extender?
A few years ago, I was shooting BTS footage for Cosmos and I did a sequence shooting Neil DeGrasse Tyson at Sunset Crater in Arizona. I used the 70-200 2.8 IS I and the Canon 2X extender (This was C300, not 4K) and I was unpleasantly surprised at how much the extender softened the footage, it looked pretty bad. Ever since then, I don't really like tele extenders. The AF with the C200 is pretty good with the 100-400 F4.5-5.6 IS II, that's a nice lens and body combo.
There is a noticeable difference in extenders and lenses. The newest version (III) of the extender is noticeably better than the early versions and off brand extenders. Also, the version I of the old lens may not have worked well with the extender. I did a side by side test the 2.8L II and the 2x extender III and the 100-400 II L and decided to sell the 100-400 II L despite having an infatuation with the lens. When pixel peeping at 4K, I could noticeable just a touch of additional CA with the extender combination wide open, but it wasn't a bid deal. I had an older 2x extender and that made a mess of the image.
