I used the GH4 daily for a month in June, and encountered several oddities. Two of the strangest that I haven't seen anyone else report yet:
-- Sometimes when I turn the camera on, it had reset the aperture to either f/0 (huh?!) or f/22. This happened at least half a dozen times over the past month. I only have to turn the dial to change it to where I want it, but ... weird.
-- New folders are created randomly by the camera. It stayed on 100_PANA for several days of shooting, and then it mysteriously added and started using 101_PANA. (Daily I transfer my files to a laptop by removing the card from the camera, copying via a card reader, then putting the card back into the camera and formatting it.) It stayed on 101_PANA for a while, then went to 102_PANA. One time it actually went to a third folder during the same day (i.e., there were a 103_PANA, 104_PANA, and a 105_PANA all on the same card). This would be meaningless except that every time it switches to a new folder, it numbers files using the folder number (e.g., file numbering jumps from 100xxxx to 101xxxx). Each folder should be able to hold 10000 files, but it's "wasting" the numbers. I'm already up to > 80,000 file numbers used, but I shot less than 10,000 files. At this rate it may begin to renumber back to 0 before I'm done with the body. Not a disaster, but pretty stupid.
