GH2 Happy Halloween!

That is the native quality of my early films. That is definitely the use for keeping some functional VHS, as there is no other way of replicating that effect. There is just something about analogue degradation.

Very well done. Good example of suspenseful shots enhanced by awesome 80s synth. And well edited, with some good pauses.

Thanks blazer. I Wish I was able to shoot something more than myself walking around my apartment that day, but I'm glad people are feeling it!
The Halloween III score might just be my second favourite Carpenter soundtrack.

Excellent creepy film! How did you achieve the VHS "look"?

Hey, thanks!

I got the look by simply dubbing to VHS at a fast tape speed with my Blackmagic card and then recapturing, deinterlacing and scaling;

I got the sound by laying the sound out of the Blackmagic onto a tape recorder with the volume jacked.
The opening/closing sound effects were done by printing that music sample and noise to VHS, then dubbing that with the tape recorder while the VHS machine was auto tracking.
The analog recordings were then recorded with an H4n.

Here's a few grabs of the anamorphic FlowMotion 2 footage before the dubbing:

When I dubbed the title card I messed with the video output signal levels to get a really terrible image:

Thanks again to everyone who's checked it out!
