C100: Hannah + Ryan Wedding Film

Ok, I'll engage on this. I still don't get it.

I hesitate to pass judgement on jokes. Hell I've made lots of tasteless (but funny) jokes. But this whole thing seems to be in incredibly poor taste, especially coming from someone who has made a name for himself making incredibly beautiful and sensitive religious films.

Is this an actual wedding video, and the bride actually received that present? And you all thought it would be funny to present a left-turn, what-if scenario?

Was it your attempt to subvert the possibly tired parade of slick "wedding films" you're likely to find on forums like this and vimeo?

Ironically, it does seem to make fun of the whole genre of "wedding films" by showing potentially pointless non-chronological events. Seeing the ceremony intercut with the prep? Why not? And at the end you realize, wait, those absorbed people continued with wedding day after manslaughter?

Was the whole wedding staged? There only seems to be 3 setups in the video (bride prep, groom prep, and vows).

I realize this did not actually happen because it would be news, especially on forums like this. And the last frame of the bride seems to contain a clear visual effect. And someone would be in handcuffs.

I thought the sound was patchy in the ceremony but images were great. How did you match the C100 and GH2?

Yes.

Yeah, pity about the sound. I thought it was good for the groom and officiant, but it was quite windy and I think it was just difficult to get good audio from the bride in that wind without micing her separately, which we didn't do. Makes me want to consider micing up brides in cases like that.

Matching up is pretty easy. Really just adjusting the color wheels in Magic Bullet Colorista, along with saturation and contrast. I find the GH2 matches up way better than a 60D or 5D does since colors are easy to adjust, but you can't add detail to the low detail Canon DSLRs to match up to the C100's detail.

Explaining a joke always ruins the joke. The photographer later pointed out to me that he was concerned while the bride pointed the gun at me which she had just been told was loaded, which gave the idea for the edit. The bride liked it. To each their own.

Here is the regular highlight.

Eric, I can understand after the trauma of the shooting incident it would be hard to concentrate on filming the wedding. The fact that you managed to get great looking footage is testament to your professionalism so I would´t be so hard on yourself about the sound.:D

Weird wedding present :kali::love4: that created a slightly uncomfortable moment in the bride´s home. You´ve got to wonder what goes through some people´s heads sometimes. Anyway, who says romance is dead (although he could be if he steps out of line or goes for a slash in the middle of the night)!

Despite the gun stuff, the video is great!

Off topic: It always irritates me when someone post a video in a group or forum targeting a specific camera, and you read the description and see that there were 5 other camera's used in the video. In this case, I was able to determine which shots were the c100, but that's just annoying. End Rant.

As of the video....I am not sure what I just watched exactly but ok.

The final video however was good
