Hang In There!

I have found throughout my years of production that at least 75+% of my fellow production peeps are musicians.

Must be that right-brain/creative thing.

Yeah, I work with a lot of guys that are very musically inclined, too(played in rock 'n roll bands, played in college marching bands, etc). Heck, my Mom has sung most of her life, my Grandmother played the piano and organ most of hers(as well as taught) and (I believe) her Mom was a pretty darn good artist. Me? I can't carry a tune in a bucket or draw a half decent stick-figure, despite taking art lessons for years when I was young.

It is really sad reading about all these extra suicides happening, caused by our leaders shutting down our countries.

Truly believe that our politicians and "health experts" haven't fully thought through completely the implications of what they'd doing.

Oh well :-(

But it could be worse, imagine having this lockdown back during the 1990's! Without everyone having the widespread internet we have now to stay in contact with.

So use the internet, send a FB PM, send an email, send a DM, to stay in contact with those you know!

This is good for them that you're looking out for them, to keep in touch.

Good for you too! Don't stay isolated yourself, talk to others.

And good for post shutdown too, once we get back to work, as your network will remember you and you won't be forgotten.

Sadly, the implications of not locking down would have been a whole level of magnitude worse. Countries that have been able to shut down early will come out of this sooner and with far fewer casualties.

I can relate to this. My mother was an artist, my sister is a successful artist, my daughter (works in film) does illustration work as a sideline. I on the other hand can't draw to save my life, even my stick men are proportionally odd. I was involved with a primary school many years ago and on one visit I was invited to help in the art class, so I drew something and one of the kids said "what's that?". OK she was looking at it upside down but still :-D

Frustrates the hell out of me, anything I draw is pretty much unintelligible squiggles :)

Oddly enough, I can't draw for the life of me either. I can do 3D versions of sketches for some reason. Yeah, I still can't figure that one out either. And I could never play guitar nor bass nor any other instrument except keyboards, a bit, for some reason. Who knows. Not me hahaha.

:-D that’s a great story! Had plenty of those empty venues myself, good times when I think back now. Hope you’re doing ok, playing music can be an intense experience with lots of highs (big audience) and lows (just the bar staff). I’d love to enjoy a virtual beer with you to share stories.

I would like that. Where would that be though? And then you'de get the 'posters' . It would be nice a to get a ''real" musician thread going somewhere though. Without he critics I guess. You know what I mean. :)

I have a degree in Jazz Performance. I wandered into the visual side during the nineties looking for better income and entering the venues from the front... Have loved the move but being a musician never leaves you or is back too far in your world.
