GH2 Handling GH2's 24p for broadcast

My broadcaster wants 1080/30p so I am shooting HBR and using a PC(ironically); the 64 bit version of 5DRGB allows conversion to OT ProRes LT or HD.

I haven't tried much HBR 30 but I should start. A lot of my work requires shooting at 29.97 or at least delivering 29.97...

Gonna start messing with it. Nowhere near as stout as 24 from what I've seen, but should be good enough with some denoise and tight sharpening.

I'm really glad you're getting into it. The disadvantage for me is that most of the genius testors (not you Lee) live on the wrong side of the pond so they optimize for a PAL HBR which fails on a NTSC HBR. Hoping I can cajole one of them to make a great 30p patch, you're a pretty powerful voice around here.....
BTW, I get the best quality by nor creating an intermediate but just changing MTS properties to progressive.

just makes me wish all the more that i had a GH2 and not a GH1. =( i hate to capture at the same frame size that i deliver! i'd much prefer to be able to shoot 1080_30p and deliver 720_30p.

...don't you think the pulldown cadence has subliminal qualities that makes watchers think...'film'?
Actually, what interlaced pulldown 24p/60i makes me think of is "television". I'd much rather watch a clean 29.97p motion picture that syncs properly with the monitor's refresh rate.
