"GY-HD200" already in six months?

Robert. It's just hear-say and speculation. Don't believe anything you read until it is a press release on JVC's website.

I know the update from DVX100 to DVX100A didn't take very long for Panasonic, but I just can't see JVC doing it in 6 months - especially since they haven't perfected the first one yet and their big product next year is the HD7000. You never know though. NAB '06? Ship in Fall '06. I wouldn't bother waiting.

No way JVC will release a replacement in only six months. Besides R&D and production would take longer than that, it would be just bad business decision. Six months of sales wouldn't pay for the R&D of the HD100.

I have heard directly from one particular sales Rep in Canada, that JVC is indeed releasing a revised version of the HD100 because of the number of returns and the simmering of sales since word of mouth has gotten out of the debacle JVC made by disregarding the SSE issue, and the substandard lens. You bet JVC is getting their arse in gear with so many bulk purchasers including broadcasters and educational institutions pulling out.

I wouldn't be surprised if they released a HD100 in slightly different clothes and fix the SSE. It may be a way to get around the fact that no one will trust something branded as a HD100.

They might release something on the lines of a HD100a, but not a replacement like a HD200. That's BS and whoever believes that is dreaming.
