Greenscreen hd idea?

I'm thinking of filming a greenscreen short film and i thougt since i'm going to do everything greenscreen. Why not tilt the camera on the side so the frame gets "720 high and 576 wide", then start a new hd project and put the clip in that scene and flip the image 90 degrees. That way its possible to get a clean hd resolution 1280 *720 because you have the vertical resolution. As long as the subject isnt clipt by the frame i think this can work.
So is there any reason why you wouldnt put your dvx on the side when filming? im thinking of possible faults as the tape gets jammed or something like that?

Only real problem with this might be with the NTSC version; it uses 4:1:1 color space and turning it on its side would mean one color sample for four vertical lines; might not look as good. On the PAL version it would be less of an issue, where the 4:2:0 color sampling provides rectilinear color distribution so rotating it shouldn't be an issue.
