Looks good. Did you add the shadow, or is this a pretty raw clip? What program are you using for the key?

I used Keylight for the keying and the shadow was an add-on.

This version was just a test run.

Nice setup! On my to do list is to build a nice large GS room. Currently I have a portable system which has been doing the job. GB mentioned that your using Keylight...that's my keyer of choice...I know this was just a test, but if i could suggest...not increasing Screen Gain, and use the Screen Matte to clean the clip up (i.e. flickering) - more specifically the "Clip Black" and "Clip White" settings. As u probably know it's give and take.

I'm working on some vids to be played on some rock stations...

Hey thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them out. I'm still pretty new to the Keying world but I know that Keylight is an awesome tool for this type of stuff. Maybe I can PM you for suggestions on our up coming project. It's mainly greenscreen so the keying has to be pretty good.:)

PM away, Hank! I've done about 300 plus GS vids...but it always something new with Keying...all of my vids have been shot on 100a, not the best for GS, but with a little tweaking it turns out rather nicely.

Oh dude... I'd like to check out your clips too... your thoughts were correct... lots of noise on my pants.. gotta correct that.

JK...your right on concerning the alpha and dispill bias...jeans can be a little Bxxxh! Get everything looking good but still flickers...DV 4:2:0 is not the best. But your right on. BTW...Austin is my favorite city - used to travel there quite often!!

I've done some work for: www.rovion.com. If you go there you will notice the image playing in the right hand corner....since the vids are so small you can get away with some things you would not get away with if played via a player/dvd/film...etc.

the stuff i'm currently working is almost done, we are converting from the player mentioned above to a wmv embedded player...so keying i used to get away with :) now take some more time. The vids will be on about 13 rock stations nation wide...hmm...heard of the babe of the day...well....instead of just a pic...you will get a pic and vid to watch...tough job, but someone's got to do it :)!

Justin... your suggestions didn't go unnoticed. We totaly agree with what you stated. We would be more than honored if you can give us technical suggestions with our up coming project. Actually all the help we can get the better!

Austin is a great city! Have you ever been to Trulucks. It's a great place to dine out there.

Yep, Trulucks is nice. I miss the mex food...but my belly dosen't :). There's a mexican resturant south on congress which used to be a feed store...forgot the name...but loved the food!

I'm keying right now...working on 13 vids...time consuming process to say the least...i'm never 100% satisfied

Wow Dewman! You've got 13 videos your working on! That's awesome bro! I'm sure glad I have you for a lifeline my friend! This green stuff should be a breeze with your help.

Mexican food effects me the same way!

Breeze...don't know about that...but have no problem helping! What version of AE are you using? I just upgraded to the new production suite...finding some nice workflow features :)!

I'm still working 6.0 pro. I've yet to learn all it can do. Upgrading is very tempting but I'm holding out till I get a better understanding with what I've got.

hey guys, sorry it's taken me awhile to respond. I'll post a clip of one of my videos on here. the compression is horrible so you can see artifacting in fast movements. when i ripped the dvd it converted quicktime to an AVI file and it went to hell.

for Trulucks, i've actually never heard of the place. i've been to Trudy's before and various other places Austin is known for. The mexican food restaurant you are talking about on South Congress is Gueros. Kick ass restaurant. there's not a day where it isn't packed.

my green screen footage, Sin City style:

i suggest playing the video back at 320 resolution. it makes it look better with the crappy compression.
