Green Screen Tests

That looked prety dark good. - Can you post a non compressed still? - Preferably your oppinon of the "worst" frame?

It looks like the camera hights don't quite match (a big thing if you are dooing full body keying with the floor)

The only thing I noticed that makes the actor really stand out is the fluctuating shadow. And only really when he first enters.

looks pretty dang good briceman.

If you have access to a capable program, you could carefully blur parts of the background so that it isn't as crisp (Shake or AE, and I think Avid). It would give it some DOF and make for more realism. Also, I think a bit more overhead lighting and less side light on the subject would have helped. The lighting in the building was scattered across the ceiling. The shadow of the subject would have probably been more dispersed. Sort of like the shadows of football players during a night game. I know green screen can be challenging, so I'm not at all knocking the footage. I just know that I like as much feedback as I cen get when doing tests.

That must have been a huge green screen. Is it yours?

hey briceman, the compressed version usually shows up pretty well, but i did notice a lot of noise on your pants. what program are you using to key? and what settings are you using?

usually you'll need to mess with alpha and despill bias to make it work well. your edges aren't that bad for now. but to make the noise go away on your jeans, i'd work with some other settings.

like i said, this version is fine for a test, but it needs a lot of work if it would ever be used for something.

hey brice
can you do me a HUGE favor
and show me what your greenscreen set up looks like? Howd you get THAT much green?

I would really really love to see this clip without the background, and even a still of the set if you could, i'd really appreciate it.

Tanks

Do tell. What was your process? I know that Goldenboy did the background.

Did you just shrink yourself/that guy or was the camera that far away?

I know nothing about this!
