Please share your thoughts, comments and criticisms.....I certainly have my own critique, but yours would be much more helpful.

I'm starting to use motion graphics and green screen for more corporate work and am still working to improve my concepts for this format.
This was a little long for my taste, but exactly what the client needed/wanted.
Shot on the hmc150 at 1080_30p with a portable green screen and 3-pt fluorescent light kit from www.ImageWest.tv. Most of the motion elements are from www.DigitalJuice.com. Sound was recorded via AT875 shotgun mic on a boom with noise removal filter by Izotope Rx applied in post.

Used my custom greenscreen scene file:
detail: -7
vdetail: -7
detail coring: +7
masterped: -7
gamma: b.press
knee: low
matrix: cine-like

  1. raw avchd clips were transcoded to Avid DNxHD-36 1080_30p, edited in Edius (audio balanced and cleaned up, white balance), exported to DNxHD-36 (full HD all the way through).
  2. edited clips were keyed in AE CS4 with Keylight and pre-rendered in QT animation codec (again, at 1080p).
  3. the video was created in AE in a 720p comp and rendered out to QT animation at 720p.
  4. sound fx were created and synced in Adobe Soundbooth, exporting an sfx track in .wav format.
  5. the video and sfx track were taken back into Edius where i laid in the music and made a few adjustments to levels and such before rendering out to a h.264 720p master.

thanks maleman.
it wasn't hard to key, but it wasn't a perfect key either.

some things i've learned along the way:
1. AE keylight is awesome and gives me the best results, but there are some specific steps that need to be followed to dial it in right. I found a good tutorial online that pointed out the settings to tweak. Once you get that down its actually very easy. And I was able to copy and paste the keylight effect to all the other clips with only some minor 'de-spot' tweaks on a couple.
2. in a small space, I get better results when I underlight the greenscreen....better to just light the subject, which reduces the amount of spill bouncing back. conversely, I had more space than I'm used to on this shoot and I should've taken advantage of it to light the greenscreen better which would've helped pull a cleaner key.

thanks for your feedback! =)
